Thrifty Thursday #25

This was just a usual week for me but I ended up finding some good stuff, so lets get on with it. Please excuse me if my writing is a little off today, my brain feels more like word salad and less like arranging words into pretty sentences.

Snack and Nuts

I bought these snacks and nuts bowls for 50¢ each. I don’t know if they are vintage or new or whatever but I liked them and I wanted them so I got them. There wasn’t even that much grumbling from Prince Charming when I got them.

Anchor Hocking Candle Holders

I also got 5 more Anchor Hocking candle holders for 50¢ each. I was reading online that they may actually be glasses and I think that’s pretty cool. I might have to stop buying every one that I see, but for now, they make me happy and they may get used.

Dictionary

I also picked up this dictionary for 10¢. I wanted to get a cheap dictionary to take apart and do some crafty things with and you really can’t beat 10¢. I already have the perfect first project for this.

Pine cones

I also found these pine cones for $2. I had just seen a project on Pinterest that I wanted to try using pine cones and the next time I went thrifting I saw a bag of them. It just seems like it was meant to be. They are cinnamon scented, but the scent has mostly worn off which is ok by me. I don’t live in an area where I can just go and collect pine cones so I’m ok with paying for them.

Princess Frame

I also had to get this Princess frame because that’s who I am. It was 70¢ so it definitely had to come home with me. I’ll most likely spray paint it because I’m not really a fan of pink but it was cheap so it was mine.

Thrifty Thursday #14

This week Prince Charming and I went to a couple of our favorite thrifts with a friend of ours. We had a great time and I found a bunch of good stuff.

Embroidered Picture

We picked up this framed needlework picture thing. I love the colors and the work that went into it and it was only $2. I’m not sure where it will go yet but I will be finding a place to hang it.

Green Box

I also found this green plastic box for 80¢. It matches the storage tub that I bought to store my nail supplies. I needed something to hold cotton balls and this is perfect. Plus it was only 80¢.

Anchor Hocking Green Milano Lido Ice Cream Dish

I also picked up this Anchor Hocking Green Milano Lido ice cream dish to add to my collection. This is my first ice cream dish so I was excited to find it, especially for only 80¢.

Syrup Pitcher

I also picked up this vintage syrup pitcher to put my homemade ranch dressing in. We prefer ranch and I refuse to eat the store bought stuff. It makes a handy addition to my kitchen for $1.50.

Wanda Mumm Picture

Wanda Mumm Picture

I also picked up these Wanda Mumm framed prints for $1.50 each. I haven’t decided whether I am going to keep the pictures or just use the frames for another project. Does anyone know anything more about Wanda Mumm or have an opinion on what I should do with them?

Teapot

Recently I have become addicted to ice coffee, specifically the mochas from Jack in the Box. I would like to try to make it at home and so I started to look around online to see what I should do. I am going to try to cold brew and I thought this teapot with strainer was a good thing to try that in. If it doesn’t work out, it’s ok because I only spent $3 on it.

Thrifty Thursday #9

This week was a pretty stressful week for Prince Charming and me. We had to go to the courthouse and a couple other places to take care of some minor things that ended up taking up three entire days. We did manage to stop by a couple thrift stores along the way to make it a little more pleasant. I picked up a few things that I’ve been looking for for ages for a very small amount of money so I was very excited.

Corelle Spring Blossom Luncheon Plate Pyrex Crazy Daisy

At our first stop we were tired, hot, and discouraged, until I spotted this lone Corelle Spring Blossom luncheon plate for 80¢. Two of my luncheon plates have gotten broken in the past so I was very excited to find this.

Anchor Hocking Green Milano Lido Candle Holder

At our next stop we found an Anchor Hocking Green Milano Lido Candle Holder for 25¢ to add to my big collection of these. Prince Charming and I have a tradition of gathering shells every time we go to the beach and then we put them in one of these candle holders with the date on the bottom as a souvenir. I love the practice so I am always glad to find more of these candle holders.

Cut Glass Ashtray

I have been looking for an ashtray for the back porch of our castle since I started thrifting and this is the first one I have found. I would like to find a bigger one, but for now this one will do. It’s just a simple cut glass ashtray but it only cost 65¢.
